Women as Objects
  • Kate Durbin is a Los Angeles-based writer, artist, and founding editor of Gaga Stigmata. WOMEN AS OBJECTS is her tumblr-based project where she archived, from 2011 to 2013, notes and images from teenage girls* in real time in order to create an archive gallery. WOMEN AS OBJECTS culminated in one live performance, Pardonmywhoremoans,at BELLYFLOP swimming pool gallery in Los Angeles, two video art pieces, iPrincess, and TUMBLR IS THE ONLY PLACE I DON’T PRETEND I’M OKAY, and artist talks. The project has been featured in Hyperallergic (resulting in the magazine being banned from Facebook), Bright Stupid Confetti, ARCADIA MISSA, Flavorwire, and T-Mobile's Your Digital Daily.
